Ms. Marie-José Nadeau, World Energy Council (London, United Kingdom)
Ms. Nadeau is an expert in energy and a regular speaker in international energy forums.
She is the past Chair of the World Energy Council where she served from 2013 to 2016 after a career in senior positions with the Government of Quebec and as Secretary General and Executive Vice President of North America’s largest electric utility, Hydro Quebec (Canada).
She sits on the Board of the French multinational energy corporation ENGIE and on the Board of METRO (Canada); both are publicly traded.
In addition, she sits on the Advisory Council of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), based in the USA, on the Advisory Council of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), on the Advisory Council – Women Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy (WiSER) Program (UAE), on the selection committee of Sheik Zayed's Energy Prize (UAE), and on the Advisory Council of the United Nations' Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and China Energy Fund Committee. She is vice president of the Board of Directors of the Montreal Symphonic Orchestra (MSO).
