Capacity Development Seminar on Powering the Future We Want- Recognizing Innovative Practices in Sustainable Energy for Eradicating Poverty and Promoting Prosperity in a Changing World

Participants of the Capacity Development Seminar included representatives from 12 institutions that reached the top of the evaluation process for the 2017 UN DESA Energy Grant programme.

The objectives of the Seminar were to: 1) Build capacities on best practices and successful implementation of energy projects that are dedicated to eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity; 2) Highlight groundbreaking innovations; and 3) Address challenges related to the implementation of energy projects that are devoted to eradicating poverty and promoting prosperity.

At the conclusion of this Capacity Development Seminar, it was intended that participants gained: 1) knowledge of successful projects of various scales promoting poverty eradication and prosperity; 2) enhanced understanding of the issues faced by organizations and/or individuals implementing sustainable energy projects; and 3) awareness of major technical, managerial and financial challenges related to the implementation of these projects.
